What can a screenplay software do?
There are many screenplay software apps, but what else can they do besides formatting? I can learn formatting for free from a library book, I would hate to buy software for just that. Any suggestions on the best software; Final Draft, Adobe Story, Movie Magic etc.?

All the screenplay software does is format. You can accomplish the same thing with properly set tabs and indents, or by downloading the free-and-legal screenwriting software Celtx. That’s what the working screenwriters usually recommend to people who are new to the craft, doing one or the other of those.
Of the purchased ones, the pros I know slightly online seem to be more or less evenly divided between Final Draft and Movie Magic. Both produce perfectly formatted pages easily.
