how do u turn a wmv file into a set of pictures?
well i wanna make an animated avatar(dont want to use avatar maker becuase it makes the udly ass logo on the front) so i just want to learn how i can make import a some pictures from the wmv, and turn that into a gif. also plz dont tell me to use prt screen for the pictures, it doesnt trun out right….
VLC can easily take screen shots from videos. It can also play anything and it’s completely free. VLC media player is a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, mp3, ogg, …) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols.
To take screen shots:
1) One method is to use the hot key for taking screenshots. The default keys are alt+ctrl+s (you can change this of course in Settings->Preferences->Hotkeys Settings)
2) The second is just right click on the screen while the movie is playing and select snapshot.
3) The third and final one is Video->Snapshot. It will take one that will appear in the upper left corner briefly.
NOTE: Make sure the output directory for your screens is selected as well. By default its in the vlc folder in “C:Program FilesVideoLANVLC”.
