Good free website maker?
Hey, basically guys im looking for a free website maker to make for my band, i have had a look at www.mrsite.com which looks like you have to pay, but is there anhy free website maker which lets you work without ads and can pass as a professional website? Also i want it to be well organized in columns and have colour to it, instead of plain black and white and banner (ew).

There is ONE ad if you use a pre-made template but it’s not that distracting. A neat trick would be to copy the source from a pre-made template after you get it all setup, remove the ad and then switch it to the advanced HTML editor. There will be a small bar at the bottom of your page if you do use that, but it’s got a little arrow to move it away.

Can my book cover contain song lyrics and logos?
There is a painting I made and I want to put on the cover of my self published book. Most is my creation but there is a company logo in it (Gatorade), some pieces of song lyrics and quotes from famous people. Would that be a problem? It is all unsourced in the cover but inside the book I do explain the source of every quote and when I heard them and what they mean to me. I cannot change the painting anymore to include sources, so the question is can I use the painting for the cover or not?
If you use the Gatorade logo, you’re asking them to sue you for copyright and trademark infringement. If any of the lyrics and quotations were written by people who are still alive, or have been dead less than 70 years, you’re asking all of them to sue you for copyright infringement. None of them will care if you credited them, because what’s illegal is using their words without their permission, not pretending the words are yours.
You won’t get permission unless you’re already a well-known author and/or throw a lot of money at them.
In short, put something original on the cover.
EDIT: I really should proofread my answers more carefully… obviously a dead person can’t sue you, but their heirs and their estate can. And under some circumstances, claiming somebody else’s words as your own can be illegal… but crediting the author will not get you off the hook for any infringement.

How much does it cost to remove a company logo/”designed by” from your website design?
A company designed a website for me and have “designed by. . .” at the bottom of the page. I feel this makes the website seem a little amateur, they’ve done other websites without putting this why mine? What’s the best way to go about having it removed?

You may have copyright issues if you try to modify the page design. You may own the site, but the designer may own the layout.
If you don’t have a contract specifying who owns the rights, then it is practically automatic that the designer owns the copyrights and he can actually sue YOU if you attempt to modify it without his permission.

I can’t say for sure, but one of the reasons his “credit” is displayed on your site and not others is that you didn’t get charged as much as he charged those other sites. In other words, in exchange for a discount on the design, he gave himself some “advertisement” space.
By the way, designer’s credit is pretty common on websites, ESPECIALLY on sites that owners hire other designers to create.

How do you start a Footwear Company?
OK I have a few questions, so bare with me.
I have decided to start my own Footwear manufacturing company. I have given this A lot of thought for about 2 years now. I have tons of sketches marketing schemes, commercials ideas detailed down to camera angles and the musical score I want playin in the background, a logo, name, target market(s) slogan everything even how i want my shoes advertised in various retail outlets.
First how do I start (what do i do first)
Secondly If want a sample made how do i go abuot doing that (what does the process entail, does the sampler need a sketch from one angle or do they need detail sketches because i have a lot from the side view left to right. I can do them from different angles if need be.)
What things do I need to consider e.g. type of machinery, material sources any and EVERYTHING
(Wow I know I am forgetting half my questions, Feel free to add anything else you think I might need)

Creating websites … been out of the loop and need guidance?
I have to create a simple website about 8 pages deep. In ancient times which have created frameworks of a home page so that only the page content has changed and the menu navigation Notifications logo has remained unchanged. I do not want to create a model of the appearance of the site and generally use it to build pages others, although I use style sheets to the sources, all changes must be made on each page to create a nightmare Administrative cost! I am not only the methods of construction in progress, but I know that managers are not the way forward, the flash is too complicated for the requirement, website free templates can in some respect to the real aspect of the site, but it seems that using separate html pages, oh and for the record, I'm no expert in XML or ASP. FYI – Am with DreamWeaver 2004.
