$100 to $125 per hour is the standard rate window for a designer who uses the latest technologies and codes using web standards. You can find rates much, much cheaper…but you will get what you pay for (and more than likely regret it).

A good website graphic design software recommendation?
I need to do a nice page header for my website and also a logo, attractive buttons and some nice graphics. Also want to do up nicely designed tables.
Is there any 100% free software available on the net which can provide this? Or anyone can recommend me a good CHEAP software that can help me with this?

I’ve heard Gimp is a good, free graphics app, though I haven’t used it myself. I use Photoshop and Fireworks, but you’d have to pay for those.

i used to use a program, it was freeware, that would create gif images.
all i remember about it was what it looked like, (i can’t describe that) it had a built in image editor, and it’s company’s logo involved film.

I make lots of Graphic Art, Tubes, Backgrounds, Animated Gifs, I also do alot of photo editing … I am looking to further my skill and make flash creation, I know you need some kind of flash software to be able to make flash graphics for websites, Banners, backgrounds, I can do that now with Paint shop pro 9 but not in Flash, I would like to learn how to do this and find software (the best) that is out there that I can use for free, so that I can just practice at home and play with it, Then when I get it down and stuff I would like to beable to buy it, but for now I would like to find one completely free, and with out a demo version does anyone know where I can get this. It can save swf files, and it’s completely online, so you don’t have to install anything. It doesn’t support actionScript, but it does have some other interesting features.

Is a very interesting open-source tool that specializes in creating flash animations. It looks quite powerful, but it can be a bit tricky to use.

is a very interesting programmer’s IDE which lets you design flash content with code. It goes especially well with the Flex compiler, allowing you to build complete flash applications without Flash. It is a programmer’s tool, though, and won’t make much sense if you don’t already know how to program.

Can anyone help with the logo of the youth group from my church?
I am currently designing a logo for my youth group. Name group of young students is being expanded departments. The idea of the content is to use arrows, hence the whole "Zoom" name. Our motto is to "achieve a greater height, relax." Any ideas? Incidentally, I use Gimp, the free version Photoshop.
I like the idea of playing with the arrows – perhaps turn into an arrow and UO in a circle of arrows pointing outside. Perhaps something like the stretch "Spread the student ministries name space. can also be played with the idea of a stretched spring is always pointed toe, but is stretching outwards by page. My advice is to check something like MYK creative and see what inspires you. everything is available for download and much of it is there for you to use as you like without copying and writing.

I want any design experts to answer this. which is the best software to design logos, banners and other graphics.
I need to know about good softwares specially for logo designing.
It should be easy to use and learn even for new learners in this area and it must contain a number of in built templates to work on initially.
Even a person without any knowledge of logo design must be able to create logos resembling professionally made ones, if possible.
Where can we find good online tutorials for learning logo designing?
It’s always good to stick to industry standards such as Adobe Illustrator. You will find it’s basic tools invaluable to create anything you need, but it is also one of those programs that will help you learn more tricks as your projects get more complicated. Vector based artwork is the best tool for creating logos, as you can re-size them to any size without losing quality.
However Adobe Illustrator is expensive. As an alternative, try using a Free Open Source program such as Inkscape www.sourceforge.org It’s multiplatform and complies with a number of standards. Secondly to repeat myself, it’s FREE!
When using dedicated industry standard programs for your design work, it makes it far easier to share your work with professionals; especially if you want to pass these logos onto printers or sign writers.
Whatever you do, don’t buy one of those off the shelf packages with templates, they all look the same, and the people that see your logo will notice the difference.
