Try http://www.fordesigner.com/. Type in logo in search engine. They might have something already drawn you can use.
Edit – You don’t have to download any software, just the artwork from the site. I use option Download No. 3.

What is a good free logo maker?
In BCIS, we’re doing a business plan project. I am doing an animal shelter. We have to make a logo, and I need to find a good logo maker. I’ve looked but they’re all expensive, I need a free one. The free ones I do find are all tacky. Does anyone know a good site?
I recommend GIMP. It is free and as powerful as most commercial image editing software. You can download it free from:

You have to register and be authenticated to save your designs but I tried making an animal shelter logo and it’s quite easy. The online tool is quite intuitive and easy to use.

Learn more than just Corel.
Learn Illustrator, Quark, InDesign, and Photoshop too.
And as much as I hate to say it, it cant hurt to know some of the crappy useless PC programs (Word, Publisher, etc.)
Corel is on its way out in my opinion.
I am a pre-press mgr. for a printing company, (we take the files designers create and make them print on press) and at the most, I see less than 10 jobs a year in Corel (we do an average of 10,000 jobs a year).
Learn all you can about the standard (Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark, InDesign) design and layout applications.

Is it illegal to reproduce a logo for a design project?
I have a client who wants me to do a piece of one for a musician. who wants to add in the logos of all TV programs was the musician, and logos of other artists, the musician was shot. It is illegal for me to take all these logos Illustrator and traces of this project? I crawl because I want to be vectors and I can do all gray. I will not maul a source or anything … actually just copy them. thank you to all who can help you! oh and incase of mind, I pay for it. logos are things such as CBS, Oprah, Leno, ABC, etc. I been informed customer will not be used for commercial purposes … Does that correct?
If the logo has a C inside a circle, who has rights and can not be copied unless you have permission of the creator of the company logo. Otherwise, it is legal to copy.
