Starting my own business at home (invitations, birth announcements, etc.)?

I am looking for suggestions on how to start to work in my own home business designing birth announcements, invitations, business cards, etc. How can I start advertising the company? What are the first steps to get up and go? Would you suggest any outsourcing of printing and if so, do you have a lot good suggestions online outsource?
