What is graphic design and what are the career opportunities?

I specialize in graphic design, graphic design include web design or web development deifferent this? I want to go to college in Florida please help me.

The graphics are more graphic aspects of commercial work. For example, a graphic designer to create a logo for a layman, the design of product packaging, and so on. Some graphic designers know a little about web design (HTML, CSS and Flash), but will not be able to create a complex web reality.
