How can you be good at web design / Graphic Design / without school?

I am currently a web designer, amateur and, as I have 14 years of age would make you some money as a freelancer. The problem is that I can do HTML / CSS / PHP, but I suck at aesthetics / design. How can I learn this? I am looking for tutorial sites. When I try to learn what is taught in schools design.
