What are good programs to use to make a logo?

I want to make a logo for my site and I bought a Logo Design Studio Pro new times, but the images are far enough wack. Someone advised me to buy Photoshop or Illustrator, but I know the best for my money. All of Suggestions? I also want a program that can create images for posters or brochures.

It depends on what basis will the logo. If the image will be Photoshop, Illustrator animated series. for banners and flyers that I like InDesign and Quark is not terrible. I highly recommend to get the software Adobe CS3 (Creative Suite) is like any program you can design anything and everything. It costs a few dollars of bad, but worth it in my book. I work on my freelance design work and I could not live without CS3. Easy to use and based on the fast computer. All Programs can be used with others.
