how much to charge for a wordpress website?

Hi, i was wondering, is it cheating to sell web development services just using wordpress?? I am pretty good at using it as web design/development is the road i want to go down career wise. I have been asked by a few people to create a site for them but i feel if i created the site using wordpress i would have to charge hundreds of pounds less than if i were to create a site from scratch using notepad++ for example. I only know (X)HTML/CSS and photoshop but wordpress is so easy to create dynamic websites with it almost feels wrong to charge money for it haha. So what do most developers use to create dynamic websites?? i.e. ecommerce, forum sites, social networking sites etc.. and how much do you think i should charge roughly?? i heard $1500 minumum for a CMS site but surely that means it has been hand coded rather than something like wordpress??

thanks!

If you’re just starting out, 20 pounds (about $25) an hour is a fair price. If you use WordPress, it’s going to take a lot less time than if you code it all by hand. If WordPress will do the job required, and they like the site you create, there’s nothing wrong with it. (Is there anything wrong if the carpenter who’s building your house buys ready-made windows, instead of making them from lumber and sheets of glass?)
